Important information for Students Attending Ohlone in the 2019-2020 School Year



Ohlone Community College Important Dates to Remember

Step 1:  Complete Ohlone College Application Online.  See our instructions at the bottom of this page.  

  • For all students applying, because you will be enrolling at Ohlone after you receive a high school diploma, make sure to mark that you have already graduated from high school, even though you will still be in high school when you are completing the application.
  • If you need to show residency or citizenship documentation, please take it to the Ohlone Admissions & Records Office (Building 1, 1st floor).  You will need to show this documentation before your Ohlone Student ID # can be issued.
  • Once you complete your application, you will be emailed your Ohlone Student ID #.
  • You may be asked to report your grade point average GPA.  You can find this on your final grade report that given to you in 3rd period at the end of first semester.

Step 2:  SAVE THE DATE NOW  so you can Attend Freshman Orientation Day (HIGHLY Recommended)

This is your opportunity for Early Registration for your classes!  RSVP when it opens up.

  • Saturday, May 18th @ 9:00am OR 1:30pm at the Ohlone College, Newark Campus.

*ALL high school seniors and their parents are invited to the Freshman Orientation at Ohlone. Ohlone will provide orientation information and workshops. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with counselors and register for classes.

NEW THIS YEAR!!  FREE Tuition for Students!  

There is no income requirement with the California Promise Program available to all Ohlone students who are eligible.  Instructions on how to apply and eligibility,  is here.  Everyone who applies must fill out a FAFSA (US Citizen or an eligible non-citizen or California Dream Act Application AB540).  Everyone who applies and qualifies will receive up to 30 credits and mandatory fees covered for the first year. 


FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): DEADLINE is  March 2nd

Step 1: Go to and click on “Start A New FAFSA.”

Step 2: Enter your student information to create a login.

Step 3: Carefully go through the application questions and submit your application.

* It is important that you do this application with your parents, as you will need information such as parent birthdays, social security numbers, etc. Come see your counselor if you have any questions about financial aid eligibility.


Ohlone Success Personal Development Classes will help you stay on track and develop plans to increase your college and career success.  Research shows students who take advantage of these classes are more successful than students who don't.  
Ohlone College Puente Project is a program open to all students who want to develop important skills, make connections with their classmates and work closely with a counselor to help thrive in their academic experience.  

Extended Opportunity Program and Services helps with academic advising, early registration, scholarships and student collaboration.  

UMOJA Scholars Program for African American history and lit students and students wanting to experience African American-themed cultural events.  

Athletics at Ohlone, home of the Renegades!  

Ohlone Math Gateway Program (OMG) is an accelerated math program for Engineering and Bioengineering students at Ohlone.

A2Pi Launchpad Learning Community is primarily directed towards African American, Pacific Island and Hispanic students interested in Science, Technology and Engineering.  

Completing the Ohlone Online Application

  1. Go to the Ohlone home page:
  2. Click on the “Web Advisor” link, located in the top right hand corner of the page.
  3. Click on “Apply for Admission Online.”
  4. Click on “Create an Account” and fill out questions to create your OpenCCC account.
  5. Go through the questions on each page of the Ohlone online application.  After each page is completed, click “Next” at the bottom of the screen to move to the next page.  If you don’t answer a question completely, you will be redirected to this question before proceeding to the next page.
  6. After completing the application, click on “Submit Completed Application.”

Registering for Classes at Ohlone using WebAdvisor

In order to register for classes via the Web, students must first get a Web Services Account: 

1.  Go to the Ohlone home page at

2.  Click on the “WebAdvisor” link, located at the top right hand corner

3. Click on “Sign up for WebAdvisor access (It’s FREE!)”

4.  Under Step 2 on the displayed web page, click “I need an Ohlone College web services account.”

5.  Complete all required fields to create your own password and reminder.  Hit “Submit” to get ID for Web Services account.


  • You will receive an email confirmation of your request for a Web Advisor access, which will include your user name.  Usually this is emailed to you almost immediately. 
  • Once you have a user name, go back to the Ohlone home page ( and click the “WebAdvisor” link in the upper right hand corner. 
  • You can then click the “Students” box at the right side of the page.  
  • Next you can click on “Log In” and enter your User ID and Password, and hit “Submit.”
  • To sign up for classes, click “Register for Sections” under the “Registration listing.
  • You will then need to click “Search and Register for Sections.”

Other services available using WebAdvisor:

  • View class schedule
  • View placement test scores
  • Make a payment
  • Drop a class
  • Waitlist for a filled class
  • Select preferred classes before registration
